Get Your Tote On: Our Latest Contest!

These days it seems that everyone is trying to be more eco-friendly, and lots of re-useable grocery bags have become very popular. The problem is, sometimes they're not very cute! We'd like to challenge you all to make a re-useable grocery bag/tote that's not only functional, but cute! They're fairly simple to make, and they don't use a lot of fabric. If you're really eco-concious, you can even re-purpose something you've got lying around! There are some great tutorials on the internet, here are a few:

Check them out, and get sewing! We'll choose a winner at random to receive another kind of tote - our awesome Kangaroo Kabinets rolling tote!

Now, the rules:

1. This must be a new item made for this contest, and be your original work.

2. Please email a 600 x 900 pixel image of your completed project to rebecca@arrowcabinets.com by Saturday, August 13th at 9 pm, along with your name and mailing address. You may enter more than once.

3. All photos will be posted in a slide show here on the Arrow blog on Monday, August 15th.

4. The winner will be chosen in a blind judging by Arrow staff members.

Good luck, and have fun with it!

  2. Question? I am making two that incorporate a small panel with an embroidery design from Embroidery Library. As long as I am dreaming up the bags myself (using a grocery sack for measurements!), and sew it myself, is the use of a decorative embroidered panel "legal"??? I'm making these for birthday gifts anyway, but just wondered if I could enter them?

  4. Is it legal to use a grocer's bag and make decorative blocks to cover the ads?

  5. Do we need to use the suggested patterns for the bag, or can we make/use our own pattern?
